Adho Mukha Svanasana, or Downward Facing Dog Pose

This is the supported + restorative version of the pose. It settles the brain similarly to child’s pose to start the practice like no other.

By the way 🤔, with Downward Facing Dog, I really recommend trying the pose with two blocks ALSO under the hands 🙌.  For this shoot at Yoga Journal, we didn’t want to overwhelm with too many props; but, most of us do need to start out using blocks under the hands in order to get needed support in the shoulders and in turn the abdomen and legs.
